Kevin Doyle’s Roscommon Soles “Step Into The Irish Parlor” With The Dancin’ Doyles & Friends

After a sold out show at the Narragansett Theatre in 2015 and a performance for the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, D.C., in 2014, Kevin Doyle’s Roscommon Soles invite you to “Step into the Irish Parlor” to tap your toes and sing along! The show highlights the traveling tale of Margaret Taylor Doyle’s jigs and reels from County Roscommon, Ireland. From a 1930s village kitchen in Castlerea’s Irish countryside to Margaret’s “parlor rackets” in Providence, her family dances through the decades, finally arriving on a national stage in America’s Capitol! Kevin is proud to share this story of a family dance tradition, a cast of musical friends and characters, and the Providence parlor that sets the stage!

Kevin is a proud recipient of a 2014 National Heritage Fellowship in Irish Dance from the National Endowment for the Arts, the highest honor bestowed on a traditional folk artist in the United States.

With more than 55 years of dance under his feet, the tradition recently has taken him from a St Patrick’s Day White House performance to the prestigious Willie Clancy Summer School in County Clare, Ireland, as a 2015 featured presenter and teacher.
