On Saturday, June 25th, The Rhode Island Creative Magazine and TOJ Design Studio, LLC have collaborated to bring you “The Makers Event " for creative individuals living and working in the Ocean State.
The event, which is being held at the historic Park Avenue Theatre in Cranston, will gather a community of makers and feature works by several local artisans, scientists and craftsman.
Please join our community and come meet our local makers on Saturday, June 25, from 5:00pm – 10:00pm.
We will have “Maker Booths” with products handcrafted and created by local artisans, such as FabNewport Makerspace, Still Water Publications, Cosmic Unicornz, O and G Woodwork Studio, Lemmon Head Fine Art Studios and more. Locally made food and beverages will be provided by Hope & Main Food Incubator, Mesa Café and Al Son De Mi Darrio.
Along with interesting makers and delicious food, there will be a fashion show featuring four unique designers based in Rhode Island. Martha Jackson will show her collection from Restored by Design, up-cycling and reusing interesting pieces to create beautiful new designs. Local handbag designer, Kent Stetson, features a fun and whimsical line of bags where technology and cutting-edge techniques meet art. Melissa Thyden will show her bright and enjoyable clothing line, Cosmic Unicornz, inspired by her collection of paintings. Shea High School Students from Pawtucket will show their hand-made clothing line from a variety of themes.
This is a family-friendly event. Admission is FREE and an entrance donation of $5 is kindly appreciated and will be entered into a raffle filled with local goodies!
